Fillers: FAQS

Are dermal fillers safe?

All non-invasive procedures do naturally have a risk, but at Le Lys clinic, we take the essential steps to decrease all of the risks. This includes a full consultation with Dr. Janie which examines your medical history and a full explanation of the procedure. By nature, dermal fillers are biocompatible and degradable. They are made from hyaluronic acid (HA), so we can insure you that they are safe.

What does the treatment involve?

For filler treatment, we will inject small quantities of dermal filler into the desired areas of the face. This will recreate volume and give you a more youthful and healthy face.  The most commonly treated areas are nasolabial folds, eyes, lips and temporal areas.

Can the filler be removed?

Definitely, as dermal fillers are completely reversible.

 What are the side effects?

The side effects are very minimal and only require a small amount of downtime in recovery. A common side effect can be minimal bruising, which can last up to seven days. Other factors may interfere with the recovery of bruising including lifestyle, alcohol consumption and medication since it may cause slight swelling and redness, but this will only last a few more days.

When will I see results?

You will see immediate results from the injected fillers, but as previously mentioned there could be a small amount of bruising. You may expect to see full results after a couple of weeks
